10/04/2013 – The women's cross country team placed 10th out of 22 schools at the Lansing Community College Invitational. The meet was contested at Grand Woods Park in Lansing, Michigan. Saginaw Valley State won the team title, while Emily Short of SVSU crossed the finish line first in a time of 18:00.
The women, who finished with 254 points, were led by freshman Abby Heiler, who recorded a 55th place finish in a time of 20:15. The trio of Clare Naughton (20:17), Ellen Hackett (20:25) and Jessica Dippel (20:27) were right on Heiler's heels as the four crossed the finish line within twelve seconds of each other. Rounding out the scoring for the Saints was Crysta Paganelli who placed 83rd in a time of 20:52.
Aquinas will return to the course next week when they take part in the Bethel Invitational and the NAIA Preview Meet in Lawrence, Kansas.
