10/17/2013 – The women's volleyball team continued their winning ways with a straight set victory (25-10, 25-10 and 25-15) over the Mustangs of Marygrove. The win improved the Saints record to 13-6 overall and to 5-3 in league play, while the Mustangs stayed winless in the WHAC with an 0-7 mark and a 15-11 record on the season. The Saints currently reside in the sixth spot in the WHAC standings as they prepare for the final stages of their season.
Molly Maynard's 12 kills coupled with six blocks sparked the Saints to the conference victory. Maynard's precision hitting led to a .423 attack percentage for the junior from Williamston. Nicci Thomas also played a starring role for Aquinas as she tallied 21 assists, 12 digs and five aces. Overall the Saints held a distinct advantage in all statistical categories.
The Saints will now travel to Whiting, Indiana for the weekend to play four matches at the Calumet St. Joseph Tournament.
