11/03/2013 – The men's soccer team secured the third seed in the upcoming WHAC Tournament by way of a 0-0 tie at Concordia. The Saints concluded the regular season with a mark of 14-3-1 and 6-3-1 in the WHAC, while the Cardinals nailed down the eighth and final spot in the tournament via the tie. Concordia finished the season with a conference record of 3-6-1 and an overall record of 6-10-2. The Saints will host #6 seed Marygrove on Saturday at 2 p.m., while the Cardinals will travel to Grand Rapids to battle the top seeded Panthers of Davenport.
The Cardinals out shot Aquinas 26-14, but the Saints were saved by the strong play of goalie Craig Demshuk. Demshuk was credited with twelve saves in his 110 minutes of work in net for Aquinas.
The Saints will now switch their focus on the second season and start preparing for the Mustangs of Marygrove. Aquinas defeated Marygrove on October 23rd by the count of 4-0. The Saints are the reigning WHAC Tournament champions.
