02/02/2014 – The men's and women's track and field teams won eight events at the Don and Riley Zimmer Indoor Classic hosted by Trine University.
The women's team was led by the first place performances of Marissa Ingersoll (60 meters), Micaila Rice (200 meters) and Krya Hull (weight throw). Hull's toss in the weight throw (51-4.25) moved her into fourth on the Aquinas all-time list.
The men's meet was highlighted by the pair of victories for Alvaro Romero. Romero jumped seasonal bests in the long jump (23-1.25) and triple jump (46-9.5). Both marks have him ranked eleventh nationally in his specialty events. Caleb Teachout remained undefeated in individual event in 2014 as the junior won the 400 meter in 49.7. The time for Teachout was a provisional qualifier and the third fastest indoor 400 meter in Aquinas history. Other first place finishes were turned in by Ryan Parminter (60 meters) and the men's distance medley relay (Tom Willet, Dionte Williams, Devon Joslin and Nick Whise).
The Saints will now travel to Marion, Indiana on Saturday to compete in the Indiana Wesleyan Midwest Classic.
