Team Aquinas Claims Eleven Golds at IWU

02/10/2014 – The indoor track and field teams continue to gain momentum as the Saints had a strong showing at the IWU Midwest Indoor Classic. The meet was contested on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana. The meet drew competitors from both the WHAC and the Crossroads Conference as well as many unattached athletes. The Saints earned eleven firsts, seven national qualifying marks and three additions to their top five lists.









Meet highlights included:

Marissa Ingersoll - 1st 60 meters (7.94)
Alex King - 1st 60 meter hurdles (9.21 - "B" qualifier)
Kyra Hull - 1st weight throw (53-6.5 - "B" qualifier - #2 AT)
Ryan Parminter - 1st 200 meters (22.59)
Caleb Teachout - 1st 400 meters (49.45 - "A" qualifier- #2 AT)
Grant Gunneson - 1st 800 meters (1:57.81)
Tom Willet - 1st 1000 meters (2:33.78 - "B" qualifier)
Nick Whise - 1st Mile (4.24.64)
Men's 4x2 - 1st (1:32.10)
Men's 4x4 - 1st (3:22.43)
Alvaro Romero - 1st (long jump - 23-4.75 - "A" qualifier)
Clay Weidenhamer (shot put - 50-6 - "B" qualifier - #3 AT)
Jake Towne (5000 meters - 15:18.86 - "B" qualifier)

The Saints will compete both at Grand Valley State and Calvin College this weekend.
