02/15/2014 – Seniors Aaron Hendrick and Nik Artaev won the doubles championship at the West Michigan College Tennis Invitational. This year's event took place at Hope College's DeWitt Tennis Center and included doubles teams from Aquinas, Hope, Grand Valley, Calvin, Cornerstone and Davenport.
Each school entered four doubles teams in either the Challenger, Varsity or Championship (highest) division and the duo of Hendrick and Artaev came out on top. In the process of winning the 2014 championship, Hendrick and Artaev defeated the top two teams from Grand Valley State and the top team from Davenport.
Hendrick & Artaev have been playing doubles together since the start of their freshmen year and finished last season ranked #10 in the country. The dynamic duo is off to a quick 4-0 start this year and will be back in action next weekend when Aquinas hosts Calumet College of St. Joseph on Saturday at Riverview Athletic Club at 3 p.m.
