Saints Suffer Overtime Loss to #3 Cornerstone

12/08/2010 – The Golden Eagles and Saints renewed their rivalry with what else, a down to the wire barn-burner. Unfortunately for Aquinas they found themselves on the wrong end of a 79-78 overtime loss to Cornerstone. The Golden Eagles improved to 10-1 on the season and 3-0 in the conference, while the Saints fall to 1-1 in the league and 5-7 overall.

The match up saw eight ties and brought about 13 lead changes. Aquinas built a nine point advantage midway through the second half, while Cornerstone saw their biggest advantage (seven points) during the first half.

The Saints received big efforts from Jamell Hatchett and Damacious White. White filled the stat sheet with 29 points, eight rebounds, four steals and three assists. Hatchett chipped in with 28 points and 12 rebounds.

Aquinas will look to get back into the win column on Saturday as they host Indiana Tech (9-3, 2-1 WHAC) at 3 p.m.
