01/02/2011 – The women's basketball team dropped their fourth consecutive game as the Grand Valley State Lakers defeated the Saints 88-55. The Lakers, who are currently ranked ninth in NCAA division two women's basketball, improved their overall mark to 10-1, while the Saints fell to 5-11 on the season.
The Saints were led in scoring by Taelor Sanders and Marisa Marx who both tallied nine points. Vicky VanDyke recorded a team high in rebounds with eight. The Lakers outshot the Saints 56%-32% from the field and won the rebound war 44-31. Grand Valley flexed its muscle as it dominated play in the paint outscoring Aquinas 50-16.
The Saints will resume action in league play on Wednesday as they travel to UM Dearborn (2-13, 0-4) to play the Wolves.
