01/27/2011 – The men's basketball team was defeated by Northwestern Ohio 64-54 to extend their conference losing streak. The victory improves the Racers record to 9-13 overall and 4-6 in the WHAC, while the Saints fall to 9-14 on the season and 1-8 in league play.
The Saints, who held the lead briefly at 2-0, played catch up the rest of the way as the Racers controlled the lead for the remainder of the game. The Racers second half shooting percentage and bench scoring proved to be the difference maker in this contest. Northwestern Ohio outshot Aquinas (56%-39%) in the second half and dominated the Saints bench (17-3).
The Saints were led by Damacious White who turned in 17 points, while Zach Eddy and Sandy Underwood chipped in with twelve a piece.
Aquinas will host #3 Cornerstone (20-3, 9-1 WHAC) at the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center on Saturday at 3 p.m.
