04/08/2011 – The women's lacrosse team extended their winning streak to 16 games with a 17-1 victory over Calvin College to secure the North Central Conference Championship. The championship marks the second consecutive year that Aquinas has captured the conference title. The Saints improved their record to 16-0, while Calvin drops to 5-6 on the season.
Lauren McCarty's four goal first half sparked the Saints to an 8-0 lead at the half. Calvin scored the first goal of the second half, but that was it as the Saints rallied off the next nine goals to secure the 17-1 victory. Hannah Brogger led the Saints with five goals, while McCarty and Kati Rogers added four a piece for the Saints.
Aquinas will look to stay perfect as they host the Saint/Knight Shootout on Saturday. The Saints will play at 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
