Men's Soccer Extends Winning Streak to Five

09/13/2010 – The men's soccer team recorded their fifth consecutive victory yesterday as the Saints defeated the Cougars from St. Francis 1-0. The win improves the Saints overall record to 5-1, while the loss drops St. Francis to a record of 1-5.

The two teams were locked into a physical, defensive minded battle for the better part of the 90 minutes of play. Six yellow cards were issued and 40 fouls were accumulated by the two teams. The Saints outshot the Cougars 7-4 and recorded the game winner by Mike Vaughan on a penalty kick in the 74th minute of play. Jesse Guevara-Lehker was awarded the victory for the Saints as he stopped all four of the Cougars shots.

The Saints will be off until next weekend when they travel down to Indiana to square off with Taylor (4-2) and Indiana Wesleyan (2-4).
