09/08/2011 – The women's soccer team traveled to Jackson and fell to the Cougars by the score of 3-0. The victory improved Spring Arbor's record to 4-0-1 on the season, while the Saints fell to 3-3.
The Cougars, who were ranked 12th in latest coaches poll, drew first blood as Karly Linton split the Saints defense and delivered the score during the 31st minute. Linton struck again in the 47th minute as she directed a header off a corner kick past the Aquinas keeper. The score remained 2-0 until the 87th minute when Spring Arbor closed the scoring on a goal by Amanda Curtis. Kelsey Duley was credited with ten saves, while Kelly Reszka stopped five shots for the Cougars.
The Saints will return to action next Wednesday with a road contest at Goshen (2-1).
