09/25/2011 – The men's soccer team defeated Concordia 3-0 in front of an enthusiastic and energetic homecoming crowd. The Saints improved their record to 8-2 with the victory, while the Cardinals fall to 1-5-1 on the season.
The two WHAC foes squared off in a non-league affair on the campus of Aquinas College during the "Homecoming 2011" festivities. The two teams went up and down the field for 43 minutes before the Saints claimed the first goal. Former Jenison High School standout, Tyler Fischer scored his seventh goal of the season to give the Saints the 1-0 halftime lead. Billy Cremeans extended the lead during the 55th minute with his eighth goal of the season. Aquinas College closed out the scoring in the 59th minute as Casey Higgason scored his third goal of the season.
Jesse Guevara-Lehker earned his eighth victory and his third shutout of the year in net for the Saints. Aquinas out shot Concordia 21-6.
The Saints will return to action on Saturday with a road contest at Rochester College (6-5).
