Pantoja's Three Goals Lifts Saints to Victory

09/17/2010 – The men's soccer team extended their winning streak to six straight games as the Saints defeated Taylor University 4-2. The Saints are now 6-1 on the season, while the home loss drops Taylor to 4-4 on the year.

The game was full of action as they teams combined for six goals, 25 shots, 28 fouls and nine yellow cards. Jeovani Pantoja kick started the offense as he scored on a penalty kick 13 seconds into the match. Taylor responded with two consecutive goals and the Saints found themselves in a 2-1 hole early in the second half. Pantoja struck again and then again in the 66th and 68th minute. Two goals in just over two minutes, gave Jeovani the hat trick and the Saints the lead. Casey Higgason added a unassisted goal in the 84th minute to close the scoring out for the Saints. Jesse Guevara-Lehker was awarded the win in net as he recorded two saves.

Aquinas will be in action tomorrow as they play at Indiana Wesleyan University starting at 7 p.m.
