Victory Extends Winning Streak to Eight

10/09/2011 – The women's soccer team defeated host Concordia by the count of 4-1 to extend their winning streak to eight games. The victory improves the Saints record to 11-3 overall and a perfect 2-0 in league play, while the Cardinals fall to 1-6-1 on the season and are know 0-3 in the WHAC.

Madeline Rammal's penalty kick in the 31st minute opened the scoring for Aquinas. The Saints struck again 28 seconds later as Jaime Tomaszewski scored an unassisted goal to record her twelfth of the year. Tomaszewski added her second goal of the game on a penalty kick during the 84th minute. The Cardinals scored their lone goal at the 84:51 mark when Laura Beth Johnston found the back of the net. Jaime Tomaszewski closed the scoring and completed the hat trick during the 88th minute to extend the Saints lead to 4-1.

Aquinas will host Siena Heights (6-6, 2-0 WHAC) on Saturday with first place in the WHAC on the line.
