Saints Open WHAC Play with Victory

10/08/2011 – The men's soccer team won their fifth game in a row as the Saints shutout Concordia 4-0. The victory improves the Saints record to 11-2 overall and 1-0 in league play, while the Cardinals fall to 1-8-1 on the season and are know 0-2 in the WHAC.

Casey Higgason and the Saints dominated the field of play at Concordia on Saturday. Aquinas out shot the Cardinals 31-2 (16-0 on goal) en route to their 4-0 victory. Higgason notched a pair of first half goals to give him six on the season, while the Saints patented defense made Jesse Guevara-Lehker's life easy in net. The Saints received insurance goals from Mike Gagnon (3) and J.C. Smith (1) during the second half.

The Saints will travel to Cornerstone (6-4, 1-0) on Wednesday to face the Golden Eagles in key WHAC battle. The action will begin at 4 p.m.
