Saints Winning Streak Halted by Golden Eagles

10/13/2011 – The men's soccer team was defeated by Cornerstone by the count of 2-0. The victory improved the Golden Eagles record to 8-5 overall and 2-0 in league play, while the Saints fell to 11-3 on the season and 1-1 in the WHAC.

Two goals by Issac Grotenhuis and a defense that limited the Saints to two shots on goal propelled the Golden Eagles to the victory. In the pivotal WHAC showdown, Cornerstone out shot the Saints 8-6 and Kyle Breckan held the Saints scoreless with two saves. Jesse Guevara-Lehker was credited with three saves.

The Saints will look to return to the win column on Saturday with a home date with the Saints from Siena Heights (4-7-2, 0-2 WHAC) at 3 p.m.
