Saints Swept by Maple Leafs

11/02/2011 – The women's volleyball team was defeated by Goshen College last night at the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center. The Saints fell to 24-11 with the loss, while the Maple Leafs improved to 16-14 on the season.

The Saints, who are prepping for a late season run, were sidetracked last night by the Maple Leafs of Goshen (26-24, 25-21, and 25-21). The non-conference loss was a disappointment, but the Saints have little time to stew with Northwestern Ohio coming into the Sturrus tonight. The game with the Racers has major tournament implications with the Saints zeroing in on the fourth seed in the upcoming WHAC Pool Play Tournament. A win coupled by a Davenport loss moves the Saints into fourth place in the WHAC. If other scenarios play out the Saints could finish as low as sixth place.

The action begins at the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center tonight at 7 p.m.
