Men's Soccer Rolls in Opening Round

11/05/2011 – The men's soccer team shutout the Cardinals of Concordia 5-0 in the opening round of the 2011 WHAC Men's Soccer Tournament. The victory improves the Saints record to 14-3-1, while the Cardinals season comes to a close at 1-13-1.

Tyler Fischer ignited the Saints offense with a pair of first half goals. Fischer, who leads the Saints with 14 scores, was assisted by Michael Gagnon and Casey Higgason. An own goal by the Cardinals extended the Saints lead to 3-0 early in the second half. Insurance goals were added by Michael Gagnon in the 69th minute and Ian Sliger in the 81st minute. The Saints out shot the Cardinals 21-5.

Aquinas will now host Siena Heights on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with a bid to the WHAC Championship game on the line.
