12/11/2011 – The women's basketball team defeated Indiana Tech by the score of 64-54 at the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center to claim their third win of the week. The victory improved the Saints record to 9-5 overall and 3-1 in league play, while the Warriors slipped to 7-4 on the season and 1-3 in the WHAC. The Saints ninth victory matches their win total from the entire 2010-11 season.
The Saints, who are currently in third place in the WHAC, received strong play from their bench in the victory over Tech. Lindsey Karpowicz and Claire Conway provided Coach Nash with some valuable minutes as the two combined for 21 points and nine rebounds. Aquinas used the charity stripe to extend a three point halftime lead. Taelor Sanders, who scored a game high 24 points, converted on 12-13 attempts during the decisive second half. Brittany Jones paced the Warriors with 20 points and nine rebounds.
The Saints will look to extend their winning streak to four as Aquinas will host Trinity International on Saturday at 3 p.m.
