McKinney Rewrites 60 Meter Record

12/17/2011 – Rumeal McKinney returned to action in school record fashion as the sprinter won the 60 meter dash at the GVSU Holiday Open. McKinney's time not only established a new school record (6.68), but also qualified him automatically for the NAIA National Championships and the USATF National Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The performance also ranks Rumeal third nationally in the event (all divisions). Emily Smith also automatically qualified in the weight throw as she recorded a toss of 51-00.25.

The Saints also saw big performances in the pole vault as both Alicia Dorko and Jordan Gerard established the third best vaults in Aquinas history. Dorko cleared 10-2, while Gerard skied over 14-7.25.

The Saints will return to action on January 6th with a dual meet versus Calvin College.
