Saints Defeat Trinity International

12/18/2011 – The women's basketball team closed 2011 with a 73-67 victory over Trinity International at the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center. The Saints, who are riding a four game winning streak, are currently 10-5, while the Lady Trojans fell to 5-6 overall.

The Saints received a balanced attack that saw seven players score at least six points. Allison Heberlein and Taelor Sanders led the Saints with 14 points a piece. Aquinas also excelled from the free throw line where they connected on 82% of their attempts (18-22).

Other than trailing in the games early moments, the Saints controlled tempo and dictated the flow of the game. Aquinas built the lead to as many as 15 in the second half before eventually securing the six point victory.

The Saints will return to action on January 4th with a home date versus UM Dearborn (0-12, 0-4 WHAC) at 7:30 p.m.
