Second Half Surge Keys Victory

01/04/2012 – The women's basketball team delivered a late Christmas present to its fans as the Saints defeated UM Dearborn 86-58. The victory improved Aquinas' record to 11-5 overall and to 4-1 in the WHAC, while the Wolves fell to 1-14 on the season and 0-5 in league play.

Aquinas used a balanced attack that saw six Saints scored at least nine points. The trio of Taelor Sanders, Allison Heberlein, and Lindsey Karpowicz all scored a bakers dozen to pace the Saints. Liza Flewelling also keyed the victory with her overall play. Flewelling contributed 11 points, eight rebounds, and four assists towards the victory. The Saints shot 68% from the field in the second half, including 6-10 shooting from three point land. Brittany Teets led the Wolves with 12 points.

The Saints will resume play on Saturday with a road date at Siena Heights (10-7, 2-3 WHAC).
