#6 Concordia Defeats Aquinas 77-56

02/12/2012 – The women's basketball team fell victim to one of the top teams in the land on Saturday afternoon. The victory improved the Cardinals record to 24-4 on the season and to 14-2 in the WHAC, while the Saints fell to 15-12 overall and to 8-8 in league play. Aquinas is currently in sixth place in the WHAC with two conference games remaining.

The Cardinals jumped on the Saints early and built a 42-24 lead at the half. The lead continued to climb in the second half as Aquinas trailed by as many as 34. The Saints closed the game with a 22-9 flurry, but the damage had already been done. Aquinas struggled from three point land (2-21) and were out rebounded 55-30. Taleor Sanders led the Saints in scoring with 14 points, while Carly Bardwell chipped in with eleven.

The Saints will host Davenport (24-4, 14-2 WHAC) on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. in their annual "Pink Out" game.
