09/25/2010 – The schedule makers did not do any favors for the women's volleyball team, as the Saints concluded a tough opening week with a 3-0 loss at Northwestern Ohio. The Racers improved to 4-1 in the WHAC and 12-5 overall, while the Saints suffered their third straight set back. Aquinas now finds themselves 1-3 in the conference and 6-10 overall.
The Saints were swept in three games by the Racers (25-20, 25-19, 25-23), but continue to stay positive and upbeat as they realize how strong of an early season schedule they have played. Aquinas was led on this night by Chelsea Philliips who recorded ten kills. Captain Katie Vander Meer contributed four kills, eight digs and 28 assists.
The Saints will return to the court on Wednesday, as they square off with the Golden Eagles of Cornerstone (8-13, 2-3 WHAC) at 7 p.m.
