09/26/2012 – The women's volleyball team was defeated on its home court by their guests from Indiana Tech. The Warriors won in straight sets. Indiana Tech improved to 8-7 overall and to 4-0 in the league, while the Saints fell to 1-3 in the WHAC and 4-6 on the season.
On alumni night, the two WHAC foes squared off in front of a loud and enthusiastic crowd at the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center. All three sets were played close to the vests, but the home team continued to fall just a little short. After taking the first set 25-20, the Warriors continued to hold serve with a two point win in set two (25-23). The Saints continued to battle in the third set, but just could not get over the hump as Indiana Tech took set three 25-22.
Megan Toth played very well in defeat as she collected 11 kills with .455 hitting percentage. Nicci Thomas led the team is assists with 28, while Hannah Mahoney paced the Saints in digs with 20.
The Saints will return to action this weekend as they travel to Indiana to compete in the Indiana Wesleyan/Indiana Tech Crossover.
