09/27/2012 – The women's soccer team concluded its non conference schedule with a 3-2 victory at North Park University in Chicago, Illinois. The win improved the Saints record to 4-5 on the season, while the host Vikings fell to a matching 4-5 mark overall.
Aquinas' Melissa Hogan started the scoring for the Saints with a goal off a free kick during the 13th minute of play. A little over 20 minutes later Hogan once again was in the right position as she redirected a rebound passed the Vikings keeper. The Saints finished the half leading the match 2-0.
North Park started quickly in half number two as Anna La Mantia sliced the lead in half during the 50th minute of play. The Saints quickly regained the two goal advantage as Hogan completed her hat trick off a corner kick during the 51st minute. Emma Lundeen brought North Park within one goal again during the 69th minute, but the Saints defense would hold the rest of the way to preserve the 3-2 win. Molly O'Conner was credited with the win as she stopped nine of eleven shots on goal.
The Saints will open up conference play on Homecoming Saturday as they entertain their guests, the Warriors of Indiana Tech (9-2, 1-0 WHAC) at 12:30 p.m.
