10/25/2012 – The men's soccer team suffered a critical defeat at the hands of Marygrove in overtime 2-1. The victory improved the Mustangs mark to 6-8-3 on the season and to 4-2-3 in the WHAC, while the Saints dropped to 6-3 in league play and to 11-5-1 overall. Aquinas currently sits in third place in the league standings with one match to play.
The Saints scored an early goal as Casey Higgason scored his tenth goal of the season in the tenth minute of play. Justin Reamon's ball was directed by Higgason past the Mustangs keeper. Aquinas maintained the one goal advantage until minute 71 when Jordan Berry netted his conference leading 20th goal of the season. Abdoullie Jallow was credited with an assist on Berry's shot that snuck inside the right post.
The game ventured into overtime and was ready to go into the second extra period when Jallow scored the game winner with :29 to play in the first overtime. Hayder Alzayadi notched the assist on Jallow's goal.
Christian Bryant recorded ten saves in net for the Mustangs, while Aquinas' Tad Drabik allowed both goals and was credited with nine saves of his own.
The Saints will travel to Siena Heights (4-8-3, 2-5-2 WHAC) on Saturday night to play their regular season finale in Adrian.
