10/09/2010 – The women's soccer team defeated the Cardinals from Concordia 4-0 in WHAC play today. The win improves the Saints record to 4-9 overall and evens up their conference record at 1-1, while the Cardinals slip to 1-5 overall and 0-3 in the WHAC.
Emily Wabich's goal in the second minute of play gave the Saints the early 1-0 advantage. Jaime Tomaszewski found the back of the net in the 16th minute of play on a set up from Teresa Buiocchi to add to Aquinas' lead. The Saints added a late first half goal as Matthea Brandenburg scored in the 44th minute. Rande Siroky concluded the scoring for Aquinas as she scored the fourth and final goal of the game in the 61st minute of play. Kelsey Duley was credited with the win as she stopped all four shots on goal by Concordia.
The Saints will be right back at it tomorrow as Aquinas will host Judson in a non-conference game at 3 p.m.
