11/17/2012 – The men's basketball team opened the conference portion of the schedule with a loss on the road at Siena Heights. Siena notched their first win of the season and improved to 1-3 overall and to 1-0 in the WHAC, while the Saints fell to 1-5 on the season and to 0-1 in league play.
The Saints, who were looking to open WHAC play with a victory, fell behind early and could never recover versus Siena Heights. The Saints from Siena tied the score at seven at the 15:21 mark and would maintain the advantage for the duration of the contest.
The lead would swell to as many as 19 during the second half before a late rally brought the Saints to within six with less than a minute to play. The Saints would get no closer as Siena would hold on for the 63-56 victory.
The Saints were paced by Austin Semple's 13 points, while Ken Gordon added 12 points, four assists and four rebounds. Ryan Hopson paced Siena with 19 points.
The Saints will return to the court with a date with Indiana Tech (5-2, 0-1 WHAC) on Tuesday at the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center.
