10/08/2010 – The women's cross country team placed second out of seventeen schools at the Michigan Intercollegiate Championships contested on Oakland University's campus. The Calvin College (NCAA DIII - #10th ranked) Knights were the only school ahead of the Saints.
Rachael Steil led the charge for the Saints as she finished the 5000 meter course in 18:00 (2nd place out of 224 runners). Upperclassman Katy Cramer (18:55) and Alina Dhaseleer (19:21) both turned in fine performances as they finished in 18th place and 35th respectively. Seniors Alicia Boynton and Sam Rinkus rounded out the top five for the Saints finishing in 43rd and 52nd place. Both Steil and Cramer were named to the All-Michigan team for their efforts.
The Saints will return to action in two weeks when they host the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge at Riverside Park.
