Lohner Vaults Into Record Books

01/19/2013 – The men's & women's indoor track & field teams competed at the Mike Lints Open this past weekend on the campus of Grand Valley State.

Adam Lohner's performance in the pole vault highlighted the activities as the sophomore from East Grand Rapids vaulted 15-7 to break his previous school record (15-1, also held by Greg Mileski). Lohner automatically qualified for the indoor championships and is currently ranked sixth in the NAIA in the vault. Caleb Teachout made his 2013 debut in grand fashion as the sophomore from West Catholic hit the automatic mark in the 600 meters. Teachout's time of 1:19.92 was just off his school record (1:19.83) and currently ranks him fourth in the nation.

On the women's side Emily Smith improved her provisional mark in the shot put with a toss 42-2.25 to rank her 12th nationally.

The Saints will return to action on January 25th & 26th as they travel to Olivet Nazarene to compete in the NAIA/NCAA DIII Challenge.
