10/17/2010 – The women's soccer team suffered a setback to Siena Heights yesterday 1-0. The victory improves Siena Heights to 2-1 in league play and 7-6-1 overall, while the Saints slip to 1-2 in the WHAC and fall to 4-11 overall.
Siena Heights, the defending WHAC champions, scored on a goal with :21 seconds to play in the first half. Katie Shull scored on the breakaway goal late in the first half on a goal kick by the Siena's keeper, Haley Mancini. Mancini stopped all of Aquinas' shots on goal to record the victory. Aquinas' goalie Kelsey Duley stopped five shots on goal for the Saints.
Aquinas will return to action on Wednesday as they to Fort Wayne to battle Indiana Tech (7-8, 1-2 WHAC).
