The Saints, who are calling every game a must-win at this point, traveled to Highland Park looking for the season sweep versus the Mustangs. Aquinas controlled the game throughout and kept Marygrove winless in league play. A balanced attack coupled with the right defensive scheme enabled the Saints to keep pace in the standings as the conference tournament looms in the not so distant future.
Allison Heberlein paced the Aquinas attack with 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Chelsea Matley also played a starring role for the Saints as she contributed 15 points, six rebounds, five steals and four assists. Marissa Marx and Clare Conway also chimed in with double digit scoring efforts for the victors.
The Saints will return to action on Saturday as they host the Racers of Northwestern Ohio (9-16, 6-11 WHAC) at the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center at 1 p.m.
