Baseball Spring Break Wrap-Up

03/12/2013 – The baseball team headed south for spring break and competed in the Russ Matt Central Florida Invitational. The Saints managed a respectable 6-5 record on the trip and will now start to prepare for a four game set with Madonna this weekend at Kimble Field.

Playing a starring role for the Saints in Florida was Taylor Pawlanta. The junior from Forest Hills Eastern hit for a .429 clip and collected seven RBI's. Michael Penny (.419) led the team with ten runs scored, while Nick Kissane (.333) paced the Saints with 11 RBI's.

On the mound Brendan Penny recorded a 1-1 record in his 13 innings of work. Penny led the Saints with a 0.69 earned run average, while Tyler Fults pitched 11 innings and received no decisions. Fults struck out nine and had an ERA of 1.64.
