04/02/2013 – For the second consecutive week Michael Penny has been honored by the WHAC for his fine play in the field and the batters box.
Penny, a senior from Grand Rapids, hit .500 (12-24) on the week, including going 11-for-18 (.611) during the four game sweep of Concordia. Overall the Saints concluded the week with a record of 5-1. Michael also scored eight runs and stole four bases. Penny leads Aquinas in batting average (.456), runs scored (24), hits (31) and stolen bases (20).
Michael Penny and the Saints (15-5, 8-1 WHAC) will open up Kimble Field on Wednesday with a doubleheader versus Cornerstone (8-13, 3-3 WHAC).
