Saints & Crusaders Play to 1-1 Draw

10/23/2010 – The women's soccer team was pitted against Madonna for 110 minutes with the end result being a 1-1 draw. The Saints are know 5-11-1 overall and 2-2-1 in the WHAC, while the Crusaders move to 2-6-5 overall and 2-1-2 in the league.

The Saints drew first blood as Matthea Brandenburg scored her second goal of the season in the 13th minute on a set up by Jaime Tomaszewski. The Saints maintained the 1-0 advantage until the 67th minute when Madonna's Amanda Ferrick converted a penalty kick to tie the score at one. The rest of regulation and two overtimes were not enough as the two teams played to a 1-1 draw. In net Kelsey Duley stopped eight shots, while her counterpart, Brittany Warner stopped six.

The Saints will conclude their regular season on Saturday at Davenport (7-3-3, 2-1-1 WHAC) at 12:30 p.m.
