10/24/2010 – The women's cross country team posted the fastest team time in school history as the Saints placed 2nd out of 24 schools at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge. The individual school best also fell as Amanda Strouse's record was eclipsed by Rachael Steil in a time of 17:37.
Several Saints posted personal bests on a picture perfect day for racing. Following Steil was senior Katy Cramer in 10th place with a time of 18:26, while sophomore Alina Dhaseleer turned in the performance of her life with a time of 18:44 (22nd place overall). The senior duo of Sam Rinkus and Alicia Boynton filled the final two scoring spots with times of 19:11 and 19:17 respectively. Rachel Luehm (19:22) and Megan Byrne (19:31) rounded out the top seven for Saints in personal best fashion. The trio of Brittany Andres (19:44), Jackie Katt (19:58) and Kelsey Carpenter (20:49) also recorded the best finishes of their careers.
The Saints will now switch their focus to the WHAC Championships which will be contested at Riverside Park on November 6th.
