Saints Advance to National Semifinal

04/18/2013 – Aquinas defeated Midland, 19-12, in game one to kick off the 2013 National Women’s Lacrosse League Championships in St. Louis, Missouri. The Saints improved to 13-5 on the season, while the Warriors fell to 8-6 overall.

Lauren McCarty led the way for Aquinas, scoring five goals on the day, while Alexandra Burns contributed four goals. Lindsay Barrett and Alisa Skluzacek had six groundballs apiece, with Meaghan Farrell picking up five. Breanne Stockall recorded 15 saves for the Saints.

For the Warriors, Brittnee Devries led with five goals, while Sarah Hill was just behind with three goals on the day. Goalie Erin Akins recorded 16 saves against the Saints.

Aquinas will now play the #1, Savannah College of Art and Design, Friday at 5 p.m. with the winner advancing to the NWLL Championship.
