Thunderbird is a free, open-source email application which runs on Windows and Mac. You may download a copy from mozilla.org. Follow the directions below to configure Thunderbird for SMTP use on AQnet.

1. Open Thunderbird and click on Tools and then Account Settings
2. From the menu on the left, select Outgoing Server SMTP
3. For Server Name, enter smtp.aquinas.edu and for Port enter 25, as shown below. Then enter your ELM username and select No for use secure connection
   
4. Click OK - You will be prompted for your ELM password when sending e-mail.
