| How will my student's roommate be assigned? |
| Roommates are assigned randomly unless a mutual request is made. |

| What will my student need for his/her residence hall room? |
| It is important for your student to contact his/her roommate prior to packing for campus to discuss what each will be bringing to campus. It is recommended that students initially pack only what they know they will need - not everything they think they might need. Your student will receive a letter from the Residence Life Office outlining necessary items to bring for his room. |

| Can my student bring a television? |
| Residence hall rooms are equipped with cable hook-up and students are welcome to bring televisions. |

| Can my child bring a refrigerator or microwave oven for his/her room? |
| Refrigerators (up to 4.4 cubic feet) and microwave ovens (up to 750 watt) are allowed in student rooms. You may bring your own, or the Residence Life Office does have some refrigerators and micro-fridges (and combination refrigerator, freezer, and microwave oven in one appliance) for rent. |

| Can my student bring a car to campus? Does he/she need one? |
| Students are allowed to bring cars to campus. Every student must obtain a permit to park on College property obtainable from the Campus Safety Office. There are many amenities within walking distance of the campus, including restaurants, banks, grocery and boutique stores, parks, video and drug stores. There is a bus system with stops in many locations surrounding the campus. |

| Who oversees my child in the residence hall? |
| Each residence floor has at least one Residence Advisor. Each building has a Residence Director. Your student can go to these individuals with questions or concerns. |

| What safety measures are taken for students while on campus? |
| Escorts are provided by the Office of Campus Safety upon request from dusk to dawn. Escorts for off-campus are available within a one-mile radius. Red Emergency phones and Code Blue stations are located throughout campus. |

| Is my student's dormitory secure? |
| Each dormitory is equipped with 24-hour 'card-access-only' admission to the building. In addition both Regina and St. Joseph's Hall have front desks, which are staffed 24 hours a day. |

| Is there a place for my child to receive medical attention? |
| The Health Center on campus is open five days a week during the school year and provides a full time certified nurse practitioner. A doctor is on site twice a week. For emergencies, students are transported to the Emergency Room at Spectrum Health - Blodgett Campus, which is located one block south of campus. |

| Are tutors available for my student? |
| Aquinas offers tutoring services through the Academic Achievement Center. |

| What do Aquinas students do when not in class? |
| Aquinas has a multitude of clubs and organizations. Students can attend sporting events on campus or participate in intramural sports. There are parks, coffee shops and Eastown all within walking distance. Both student organizations and academic departments offer various volunteer opportunities. 'The Moose' is the student union where students can have coffee, hang out or see comedians or music groups who play on campus. |

| Does my student need a computer? |
| There is a main computer lab located in the Academic Building. As well, all residence halls are equipped with smaller labs. All dorm rooms have network and internet accessibility for students who choose to bring their own computers. |

| Where should I open a bank account for my student? |
| Aquinas has an ATM machine in Wege Student Center. This ATM is linked to Lake Michigan Credit Union (which has a branch office within less than a mile from campus) and is compatible with most ATM cards. Local Banks with branch locations within include: Standard Federal Bank, Bank One, 5/3 Bank. |

| How can my child I drop or add a class? |
| A class can be dropped within a limited window of time from the start of the class. Drop dates are listed in course schedule booklet. To drop a class a student must obtain a "drop" slip from the registrar's office, and the signature of the student's advisor and the course instructor. Students may add a class through the first week of the semester with permission from the course instructor and the requisite communication with the advising office. |

| What are the hours of the Wege Dining Hall? |
Monday through Friday:
Breakfast 7:15 to 9:30 a.m.;
Continental Breakfast 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.; Lunch 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; Light Lunch 1:30 to 4 p.m.; Dinner 5 to 7 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday:
Brunch 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; Dinner 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. |

| Is there a grocery store close by? |
| D& W Fulton Heights (1415 Fulton Street) is a full-service grocery store and is located within a three-minute walk of campus. |

| Is work-study available for my child? |
| Students can check available on-campus jobs by calling the student employment hotline (616) 632.4511, or by visiting the online job postings. Off-campus jobs are posted at Career and Counseling Services, which is located in Hruby Hall. Work-study eligibility can be determined through the Office of Financial Aid. |

| What about sports? |
| Aquinas offers varsity, junior varsity, and intramural team sports. For more information, please contact the Aquinas College Athletics Department. |

| Can my child move off campus? |
Full-time regular program students are required to live in Aquinas College residence halls with these exceptions:
1. The student has achieved 'junior' status by the opening of classes
2. The student is a veteran or is married
3. The student has lived on campus for four semesters
4. The student is 21 years old by the first day of classes or has been out of high school at least three years.
5. The student lives at home and commutes from a parent's or guardian's home. |

| Where does my student register to vote? |
| Most students choose to stay registered in his or her home district for at least the first couple years of college. If a student chooses to do this, he or she can fill out an absentee ballot.
