As you might expect, college is very different from high school and sometimes students find that the skills that served them well in high school may not work quite the same way in college. The pace of classes, styles of teaching, and professor expectations can be confusing so even the most confident student might worry about the transition to college. You all have skills, interests, areas of strengths, and areas where you may not be so strong.
The Academic Recovery group consists of, weekly one-hour seminars to promote self-awareness. There will be student-lead discussion on study skills, learning styles, time management, and other issues that become barriers to our success as students at the college level. |
