A Message from the Office of Institutional Advancement
Where else, but at Aquinas College, can you enter as a student and leave as a Saint? Aquinas students not only attain that status, but an education that will provide them with the skills needed to make their way in the world and make a difference in others' lives as well.

Aquinas continues to improve student experiences and academic programs. Some of the highlights from the past few years:

- In the fall of 2006, the Grace Hauenstein Library opened its doors. The $4.7 million project expanded the Jarecki/Lacks Center to create a 40,000 square foot library that is at the heart of the College. The Grace Hauenstein Library features expanded services, increased study areas and current technology.
- Aquinas College, in collaboration with Circle Theatre and Grand Rapids Catholic Secondary Schools, opened the Performing Arts Center in the fall of 2003. The $7 million, 410-seat hall provides numerous opportunities for AQ students to actively participate in fully-staged theatrical productions.
- Aquinas established one of the first Sustainable Business Degree Programs in the nation thanks to the vision and support of Helen Palmatier. Her generous donation has helped develop curricula, hold seminars, and recruit students for this cutting-edge program.
- The Student Ambassador program enters its seventh year in the fall of 2009. Aquinas College Student Ambassadors are responsible for welcoming prospective Saints, hosting events, giving tours of campus and escorting dignitaries. They represent the wonderful student leadership that is prevalent among Aquinas College students.
- A gift from the late Jerome Byrne '48, trustee emeritus and alumnus, endowed the Byrne Professorship in Early Childhood Education and Byrne Distinguished Faculty Fund while increasing the Jerome Byrne Scholarship.
- Giving to Aquinas totaled $5.1 million with unrestricted gifts of $1.617 million and restricted gifts of $618,000 to the Aquinas Fund. All of these gifts supported student scholarships and academic programs.
