10/24/2013 – Aquinas College will host the 6th annual NAIA Great Lakes Cross Country Challenge Saturday, October 26 at Riverside Park. The competition, the biggest NAIA cross country meet in the country, will attract forty schools, including some of the top NAIA teams in the nation.
The women’s race will feature 13 of the top 34 teams in the country including #5 St. Francis (IL), #6 Olivet Nazarene (IL) and #10 Taylor (IN). Top individuals in the women’s race include, Hallie Richards of Shawnee State (OH), Julia Oosterhouse of Cornerstone (MI), Hannah Schroder of Taylor (IN) and Hilary Halford of St. Francis (IL).
The men’s race looks equally competitive as nine of the top 36 teams in the country will be present. Top 25 ranked teams in the field include #1 St. Francis (IL) #3 Aquinas (MI), #7 Shawnee State (OH) , #12 Olivet Nazarene (IL), #14 St. Xavier (IL) and #25 Indiana Tech (MI). The individual race should be exciting as Spring Arbor’s Kyle Anderson, Brad Liston of Shawnee State, Mike Blaszczyk of St. Francis (IL) and Louis Falland of Cornerstone (MI) will all be competing for the individual title.
The men’s race will start at 11:00 a.m. with the women’s race to follow at noon.
