11/18/2013 – The men's and women's bowling teams played host to the rest of the league this weekend at Westgate Lanes in Grand Rapids. The men's squad placed fifth out of seven teams, while the women concluded play in sixth place overall.
The men's team, who finished seventh in the first jamboree, showed marked improvement and jumped into the number five slot playing on their home lanes. Tim Pleune placed 21st overall to spearhead the Saints attack. Pleune collected 779 pins for an average of 194.75. Top-forty finishes were also recorded by Calvin Essenburg (28th - 745 pins), Travis Hunt (31st - 742 pins) and Dakota Neff (38th - 714 pins). The highest single game was turned in by Neff who tallied a 223 in his first game of the day.
The women's team remained consistent and placed sixth overall for the second straight jamboree. Sarah Hodge paced the Saints with a 25th place finish. Hodge averaged a 156.00 for her four games (624 pins). Other Saints who had strong performances included: Michelle Robinson (29th - 601 pins), Alicia Babicz (34th - 557 pins) and Amanda Cummings (37th - 534 pins). Babicz rolled a 243 in her first game of the day to record the second highest single game total in the day long tournament.
The Saints will continue their season on December 7th when they travel to the Eastside of the state for the third WHAC jamboree of the season. Lawrence Tech will host at Country Lanes in Farmington Hills.
