11/09/2010 – The women's basketball team was defeated by #18 Bethel 84-52 in a non-conference affair down in Mishawaka, Indiana. The loss drops the Saints overall record to 0-2 on the young season, while the Pilots improved to 4-1.
Bethel built an early double digit lead five minutes into the contest and never looked back as the Saints were playing catch up the rest of the way. The Pilots owned a distinct advantage in the shooting departments, as they outshot Aquinas 56%-35% from the field and 64%-38% from the free throw line. The Pilots extended a 25 point halftime lead to as many as 39 in the second half before defeating the Saints by the final score of 84-52.
The Saints were led by Marisa Marx's eleven points and three steals. Marx was 4-9 from the field including (3) three -pointers.
Aquinas will look for their first win of the year on Wednesday as they return home to the Sturrus for a match up with Huntington University (2-0).
