04/04/2014 – The women's lacrosse team played a flawless second half to score the 16-6 upset over #2 and previously undefeated Davenport. The sixth-ranked Saints improved to 8-3 overall and to 6-2 in league play, while the Panthers fell to 13-1 on the season and to 8-1 in the WHAC.
The Saints, who fell to Davenport 23-9 earlier in the season, have now won five consecutive games and have climbed into second place in the WHAC standings.
The two teams traded goals over the first thirty minutes with the Saints leading 5-4 at the half. Aquinas would proceed to score the first eight goals in the second half to put the game on ice. Hannah Crosby's seven goals ignited the Saints offense to the 16-6 victory. Alexandra Burns and Bailey Terebinski would add three goals a piece for the Saints attack.
Meghan Gray, a senior from Fishers, Indiana, recorded seven saves to earn the victory in net.
Aquinas will now entertain Siena Heights on Sunday at the AQ Athletic Field at 1 p.m.
