05/01/2014 – The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference announced it's post-season awards yesterday, and the Aquinas Saints were very present. Five Saints earned All-Conference recognition, and two were honored for their academic success as well. The Saints finished the season 5th in the WHAC and had an overall record of 21-20.
Kala Foerster and Sadie Stowell were named First Team All-WHAC. Foerster led the Saints with 60 hits and a .411 batting average. The junior outfielder drove in 16 runs and was a perfect 18-18 on stolen base attempts. Stowell, a senior third-basemen, batted .362 with 26 RBI. She led the Saints with a .453 OBP.
Ellie Adams, Emily Corning and Rebecca Shineldecker were all named Honorable Mention All-WHAC. Adams, a freshman, batted .313 with one home run. Corning, a senior infielder, had two home runs and drove in 18. Shineldecker, a senior pitcher, finished the season with a 12-7 record and 3.49 ERA.
Foerster and Shineldecker were both named WHAC All-Academic as well. Senior catcher Torie Lowe was named the Saints Champion of Character representative.
