05/08/2014 – The women's 4x800 meter relay highlighted the festivities at the annual Aquinas College Twilight Meet held at Houseman Field.
The quartet of Sydney Anderson, Crysta Paganelli, Kayleigh Kramer and Catie Rietsema teamed up to hit the automatic qualifier for the upcoming NAIA National Championships. The Saints crossed the line in 9:27.18 to record the 18th fastest time in the country this season.
The duo of Erika Heston and Alex King continue to impress in the 100 meter hurdles as both hit personal bests on their home track. Erika is now ranked 13th nationally with a 14.52, while King checks in at #21 with a 14.75. Both athletes will represent Aquinas College at the Championships in two weeks.
Taylor Pitts improved her provisional mark in the long jump as the freshman soared to an 18-3.25. Pitts is now an inch away from moving into the #3 spot on Aquinas' All-Time list.
Also starring for the Saints was the men's 4x100 meter relay that also improved their provisional qualifying time. Ryan Makinen, Ryan Parminter, Ray Bordeaux and Sam Freeman moved up to 16th on the national performance list with a time of 41.66.
The Saints will return to action on Friday when they compete at the GVSU Second to Last Chance Meet.
