11/13/2010 – The Saints completed the two day sweep of MCC schools with a 52-48 overtime victory over Spring Arbor. Aquinas improves to 2-2 on the season, while the loss drops the Cougars to 3-3.
Aquinas was carried down the stretch by Damacious White, who recorded eleven of his 16 points in the closing moments of regulation and the overtime period. White's bucket at the end of the second half tied the game at 41 and forced the extra stanza.
The Saints faced a ten point deficit with nine minutes to play in the game before Eric Johnson converted a shot to begin the comeback. Aquinas outscored the Cougars 15-5 over the final nine minutes to extend the game an extra five minutes. The momentum stayed on the Saints side as White willed his team to victory. The Saints also received strong play from their post players as Johnson scored ten points and recorded five rebounds, while Zach Eddy netted eight points and grabbed five rebounds.
The Saints will return to action on Tuesday as they host Olivet College (0-0) at 7 p.m.
